Peter Riccardi, 85, passed away on Aug. 11, 2017, at his residence in Westerleigh.
Born in Manhattan, Peter attended Long Island Community High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, discharged as a staff sergeant in 1954.
He was a New York City fireman for 34 years with Ladder 6, Manhattan, retiring in 1990. He was a Manhattan trustee of the UFA for 14 years.
Peter attended Blessed Sacrament Church.

Peter attended Blessed Sacrament Church.
He enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family, baking cookies for his grandchildren, and snow birding in Florida. He liked reading, carpentry, gardening, baking, the opera, bingo, history, and watching New York Yankees baseball. He was a member of the FDNY Anchor Club and supported the Boy Scouts of America.
Peter was the husband of Carole Riccardi for 54 years. He was the father of Donna Riccardi of Montreal, Canada, Robert Riccardi of Castleton Corners, Christopher Riccardi of Herkimer, N.Y., and the late Peter Riccardi Jr. He had seven grandchildren.
Services are being handled by Casey Funeral Home, with visitation on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral is Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment is in St. Peter's Cemetery.
